The official information site for RIO’s upcoming international tours. 

Experience of a lifetime for high school string students that have a demonstrated desire to gain an international performance tour experience. 

Background

Since 1999, the Rock Infused Orchestra™ based in Wisconsin USA has brought youth string communities together every summer to musically work as a group to put on a final concert production.  This music camp stretches the limits of every musician — at every level.  They work on music that is widely recognized by the masses while honing their individual technique and musicianship skills.

INVITATION

We are taking the RIO production on tour and extending an invitation to directors, string groups, and high school string programs across the USA to be a part of an International experience.  This opportunity is ideal for like-minded high school students that are passionate about working and performing with a professional rock band on world class stages.

TOUR EXPERIENCE

The tour itinerary will include amazing European sightseeing locations combined with on-site rehearsals to prepare for two large performances on specially designed stages complete with professional lights and sound.

The camaraderie built through traveling and performing as a group can be life changing.  We want this music tour to be transformative, equipping students with skills and experiences that will enrich their musical and personal development.

Benefits & commitment

There will be exceptional support, benefits and opportunities throughout the year:

  • Students will explore, learn & memorize a 40 minute program of diverse classic rock and pop string arrangements that are at a minimum Grade 2.5 level. All the music – score, parts, and mp3s – will be supplied (contact us to review the repertoire)
  • Meetings with the RIO musical directors both in person and via Zoom throughout the year to workshop and prepare: 1) The music 2) Stage presence 3) Audience engagement skills
  • An opportunity to work with other like-minded students and professional musicians that are passionate about performing
  • Be part of a major stage production & experience a professionally managed performance-based musical tour
  • Make new friends

Wed, June 10 – Sightseeing Girona *a film location for the Game of Thrones*
Thu, June 11 – Girona – Performance Day
Fri, June 12 – Visit the famous Dali Theatre-Museum & Travel to Andorra
Sat, June 13 – Sightseeing Andorra – visiting the amazing Caldea Spa
Sun, June 14 – Andorra – Performance Day
Mon, June 15 – Visit Tarragona – a famous Roman city
Tue, June 16 – Barcelona – Fly Home

DETAILS

accommodation

The accommodation is based on twin occupancy.  All rooms have en-suite facilities. Single Supplement is available upon request

Transportation

Private motor coach as per the itinerary. 

MEALS

Every effort will be made to accommodate food allergies and other reasonable food issues.

INSTRUMENT RENTAL

We are able to procure the larger instruments (cellos, basses, etc.)  There will be a rental charge for the lower strings.  Transportation of those larger instruments will be supplied.

Friends and family

Friends & family are welcome to come along.  We encourage them to come as there will be lots to experience and see in addition to the performances.
